The purpose of this Web page is to introduce you to our Practice, the facilities we have and the services we offer.

Rogart Vets has been established for over 25 years and has been, and will continue to be, committed to providing a Full, Comprehensive Veterinary Care Service to the Sutherland Area. Whether this be "In House" in our modern purpose built Surgery building, in the field with Large Animal patients or in many of our frequent "Outreach" Surgeries.

Rogart Vets is a mixed Practice ( we look after farm animals and horses as well as treating pets). We have a permanent base in our surgery located in Rogart, Sutherland, (5 miles off the A9 and 12 miles from Lairg), as well as "outreach" surgeries in many of the local villages, please see below for information and times of when we are in a village near you. 

We also offer a full 24hour, 365 days a year Emergency Service.

 

 

Equipment & Facilities

  • We offer a dedicated, fully equipped Operating Theatre, staffed with experienced, trained Suppport staff.
  • An "in house" Diagnostic Laboratory for blood chemistry analysis, skin scrapes etc
  • Full X-Ray facilities on site, including a portable Large Animal X-Ray Machine.
  • Ultra sound diagnostics for pregnancy detection and other diagnostic uses.
  • Electrocardiogram (ECG) facilities
  • Purpose built Cat & Dog Kennels for In-Patient care, with Post-Op and Intensive Care Support Equipment.
  • Intensive Care Unit for "small furries" (including very young puppies and kittens) small animals and avian patients.
  • A large, bright, friendly, well stocked Reception Area with an extensive range of pet toys, bedding, collars, leads etc.
  • A large selection of Prescription foods for Dogs and Cats, as well as a comprehensive selection of foods for Rabbits, Chinchillas etc.

 

 

 

 The Team

Patrick Argyle BVetMed. MRCVS. Practice Principal

Patrick joined the Practice in 1982, and has over 25 years experience of Vetting in Sutherland. Over this time he has gained experience in both farm animal and equine work, but his initial experience was in a busy "small animal" practice in Central England.

At present, Patrick has a young English Pointer called "Fingal", and a 2 year old cat called "Bennie"

 

 

Mary Argyle BVetMed. MRCVS.

   Mary has been helping to treat dogs and cats with medical problems for  over 25 years. She has a particular interest in the use of special prescription diets.Mary runs a free weight clinic for owners who need help getting their overweight animals to loose weight.

Mary  has had many pets in the past, including Rabbits, Guinea Pigs and Hamsters and now shares "Fingal" and "Bennie" with Patrick. 

Paul Morrison BVSc. MRCVS.

Paul joined the Practice in 2006, having previously gained experience both in "large animal" and "small animal" practice since qualifying from Liverpool  in 2002 . Paul is occupied mainly by looking after our farm animal clients.

He has a young spaniel called "Poppy" as well as keeping poultry and bees.

Kate May BVSc .MRCVS. 

Kate joined the Practice in 2007. Originally from South Africa, she previously worked as a "locum" in many practices since qualifying. She dealt with both farm animals and pets. In this Practice, Kate deals with most of the pet animal work, and is especially interested in the surgical side of the Practice.

Kate is planning on getting a puppy, has had cats, keeps exotic breeds of poultry, enjoys riding horses and takes part in many strenous outdoor pursuits, such as canoeing, snorkelling and mountain biking!
